My weekly pamper routine: indulge in self-care bliss
Unwind & Recharge: My Weekly Self-Care Ritual Revealed!
In today’s busy-a** days, it’s really hard to give yourself some time. From waking up early to going to work, spend almost the whole day at your 9 to 5, and then come home just to cook dinner and go to sleep.
And if you’re someone like me who’s trying to build a side hustle. Then going to bed late and working on weekends to be able to give some time to your side hustle must be the norm. So forget those weekends too for some “me time.”
In the daily hustle and bustle of life, it’s really difficult to take time to pamper yourself. But it’s really important to give yourself some extra TLC. At least on the weekends, to gain some peace of mind and rejuvenate yourself again for the week ahead.
Life’s responsibilities are endless. But you, too, are just as important as the other responsibilities in your life. So, you must pamper yourself (maybe just a little) at least on the weekends.
For me personally, I love doing skincare to pamper and rejuvenate myself for the week ahead. For you, it doesn’t have to be the same. You might have a different way of showing love to yourself. But taking care of my skin, body, hair, and mind is my love language to show some love to me and my body.
So, in this article, I’ll share my small weekly ritual. That I do to pamper myself and soak myself in some self-love and tranquility to get myself ready to tackle the week ahead.
So, let’s dive in without wasting much of your time. (PS: find my exclusive freebie below to get flawless and healthy skin :))
Saturday Serenity: Setting the Stage
For me, the weekend begins on Saturday. I spend my Saturdays taking care of my skin and body. Then, on Sundays, I do other mindfulness activities.
So, the first thing I do is set up the stage for me to relax. To make myself feel like I am in some fancy and tranquil spa.
I start by creating a nice and tranquil ambiance in my bathroom. You don’t have to do the same, but I like being a little extra. Plus, it also helps me unwind and relax my mind.
So, I dim the lights, light my favorite eucalyptus candle to relax, and play my Ariana Grande favorites. Sometimes I also play some soothing music to help my mind relax.
Detoxifying Delight: A Luxurious Bath
After creating a tranquil oasis for myself,
The first thing I do is take care of my body. I start my weekend pamper session with my trusty everything shower (ifkyk).
I do an unnecessarily exaggerated shower routine. Like I said, I love being a little extra and also taking care of my skin and body as a way to relax and just have some time with myself. So, I enjoy every bit of my everything shower routine.
Everyone’s everything shower routine is different. Yours can look different than mine, and that's completely okay. Here’s what I do.
I won’t explain much, but here are the main steps:
Before the shower:
Dry Brushing
Body massage with oils
Hair mask/oil
Clay or exfoliating face masks
In the shower:
Wash and condition my hair
Exfoliate the body (if skipped dry brushing)
Shave
Wash off everything with a gentle body wash or soap
Wash Face and neck thoroughly (this should always be done last)
After the shower:
Apply body lotion (sometimes oils) to a slightly damp body
Apply a hair serum
Heat protectant and dry my hair (mostly I let them air dry)
Wash hands and do a hydrating face mask (sometimes I skip)
Do my skincare (my morning and night skincare routine) (build your own here)
I know it's a bit extra, but you can skip most of these steps. As I mentioned, it’s a way of showing self-love to myself. So, I do it all. You don’t have to have the same routine as me.
Glow-Boosting Goodness: Skincare Savvy
Once the shower is done, I dive into my morning skincare routine. It’s mostly the same as my everyday skincare routine.
The only extra steps I take in my weekend skincare routine are a clay mask and an exfoliating face mask before the shower. And a hydrating face mask after the shower.
A sheet/face mask is again an optional step. But it’s a great way to infuse some hydration into your skin. I personally have dry skin (Know your skin type). So, once in a while, my skin loves a nice and hydrating face mask.
Sensational Soothing: Relaxing Massage
Once I am done with my skincare routine, I dive into massaging my body.
I don’t do this step usually. Mostly, I’ll just apply some lotion mixed with body oil (sometimes) and apply it to my slightly damp body. That’s all.
But if I am really going all out and have the time to do so, I like to indulge in a pampering massage session.
I mostly use a thick body lotion to do so (you can also use body oils). And spend some time kneading away the tension in my neck, shoulders, and back.
This gentle massage melts away all the knots and leaves me feeling utterly relaxed from head to toe.
Treats for Tresses: Haircare Haven
So after showing some TLC to my body, now’s the time to take care of my tress.
Sometimes, I just apply some coconut oil to my hair before washing it. And use my hair serum after washing and call it hair care.
I am not too good or diligent at taking care of my hair (ngl).
But when I feel like it, I love to indulge in a deep-conditioning hair mask (or apply some coconut oil) to nourish and hydrate my hair.
Then, after washing it all off, I use my hair serum to keep my hair healthy, soft, shiny, and oh-so-touchable!
That’s all and a lot for me in my hair care routine.
Reflective Retreat: Mindful Moments
So, as I bask in the afterglow of my shower and weekly pamper routine, I love to treat myself to some delicious and nutritious snacks.
Well, this is completely outside the pampering routine concept. But eating healthy isn’t just good for your health; it's also good for your skin.
And honestly, I do indulge in my favorite meals more often than not. But I always strive to take enough vitamins and antioxidants through my meals to nourish my body and skin from the inside out.
You can also consider taking supplements for the same, but I just rely on my meals.
Final Thoughts: Embrace the Bliss
Having a weekly pamper routine can be a game changer. It’s always a good idea to prioritize self-care and cultivate a deeper sense of well-being.
Taking some time out to nurture your mind, body, and soul can help you regain your peace of mind. Plus, it also helps you focus and concentrate on your work better.
So why not treat yourself to a little indulgence this week? Trust me, you and your body deserve it!
There are many ways to take care of yourself and shower yourself with some love. But personally, these pamper sessions call to me the most.
Again, it’s not necessary to have the same exaggerated self-care routine as me. You can customize it for yourself, skip some steps, or do some more steps as per your liking. Do what works for you. And what you can keep up with.
Don’t forget that self-care isn't selfish; it's necessary for your mental and physical well-being. Whether it’s skincare or not for you.
So go ahead, pamper yourself, and embrace the blissful escape of your own weekly pamper routine. You'll thank yourself later!
